It's so much easier to make artwork about the word outside oneself. It's easy use images as a broad metaphor for life. I found that my work often consists of emotional keepsakes to dissect at a later date - which is why I always have such a hard time forming conceptual projects. I am trying to find my place in this world and figure out what it means to truly be home. This time around, I decided to look inward and embrace the nature of my inspiration by experiencing intimacy. Instead of adventuring to new places and hunting down images, I visited familiar places and kept my camera by my side. I am not running away anymore. This project reflects a new chapter in my life, one of acceptance and love.
